Huss Valley Controls & Keybinds
Every input in Huss Valley, including the two that matter most: the lateral dash and the Alt instant-stop.
PC controls
| Action | Key |
|---|---|
| Move | W, A, S, D |
| Lateral dash (left or right only) | Spacebar while holding A or D |
| Instant stop | Alt |
| Interact | E |
Mobile and controller players should follow the on-screen labels in the current client — keybinds can change with updates.
How to dash in Huss Valley
Dashes are lateral only — you cannot dash forward or backward. To dash: hold W to move forward, hold A or D to lean left or right, then tap Spacebar. You slide sideways-forward in a diagonal burst.
This diagonal movement is your primary evasion tool as a Runner and the core of every effective juke. Chain it with the instant stop for maximum unpredictability.
The Alt instant-stop trick
The most underused input in the game. Because Huss Valley runs on momentum, releasing a movement key only slows you gradually — and Chasers read that slide. Pressing Alt stops you dead. Combine: sprint right, Alt-stop, cut left, dash. That three-beat rhythm is what experienced players call a juke, and it's what makes the difference between crossing free and getting converted.
How to catch people as Chaser
- Cut lanes, don't chase tails. You move faster in a straight line than a dodging Runner — intercept where they're going, not where they are.
- Force the edge. The arena is rectangular with hard boundaries; herd Runners toward a wall where lateral dashes have less room to save them.
- Watch the lean, not the feet. A Runner holding A is committing to a left dash — start your catch arc before the Spacebar press lands.
- Bait with distance. Fall deliberately behind, then accelerate when the Runner turns to check — the check slows them more than it slows you.
Session & journal keys
Community guides also reference keys for the Journal (J), Tasks (T), and Leaderboard (Y) UI panels; treat in-game prompts as the final authority after any update. There is no crouch or sprint modifier — momentum is the sprint.
One more key worth internalizing: the Menu button (top-left of the HUD) is where codes, the item shop, and ability loadout live — you'll visit it between rounds more than during them. And a small quality-of-life note: the codes text box holds one code at a time, so if you're redeeming a batch, clear the field between entries. A leftover character in the box is the most common self-inflicted "invalid code" error.
Drills: turning controls into instinct
Reading a controls table doesn't make your hands faster — these three drills do, and each takes five minutes in an empty corner of the arena:
- The stop-and-go ladder. Sprint forward, Alt-stop on a beat, sprint again. Ten reps. This teaches your fingers where Alt lives and shows you exactly how much slide the momentum system adds after you release a key — the distance you slide is the distance a Chaser can read.
- Lane-switch dashes. Run forward and dash A→Space, then D→Space, alternating. The goal is a smooth zig-zag with no dead stops between dashes. This is the base rhythm every escape builds on.
- The fake-lean. Tap A for a tenth of a second (lean, no dash), then dash D. Chasers react to your lean — this drill is what makes the misdirection abilities on our abilities page twice as effective.
Once all three feel automatic in a straight line, take them into a real match and use them on the final approach — that's where Chasers camp, and where a drilled juke pays off most. The Hero/Chicken choice adds another layer here: as the Hero, you'll have the whole Chaser's attention, so fake-leans matter more; as a Chicken among a crowd of Runners, lane-switch dashes through gaps matter more.

Huss Valley Controls FAQ
How do you dash in Huss Valley on PC?
Hold A or D to lean sideways, then press Spacebar — you slide diagonally sideways-forward. Dashes are lateral only: there is no forward or backward dash.
What does Alt do in Huss Valley?
Alt is the instant stop. Because movement is momentum-based, releasing a key only slows you gradually — Alt halts you immediately. It's the key ingredient of a juke: sprint, Alt-stop, change direction, dash.
Is there a sprint button in Huss Valley?
No. The acceleration momentum system is the sprint: holding a movement key builds speed over time up to your maximum. Coins can buy stat upgrades like walking speed that raise that ceiling.
Can you dash forward to escape in Huss Valley?
No — and that's deliberate design. Forward escapes would be pure stat checks. Lateral-only dashes mean every escape is a read: you have to wrong-foot the Chaser with direction changes rather than outrunning them in a line.
Can you play Huss Valley on mobile or controller?
Yes, Huss Valley is playable across Roblox platforms. Mobile and controller inputs follow the on-screen labels in the current client; keybinds can shift with updates, so treat in-game prompts as final authority.
What key do you press to interact in Huss Valley?
E is the interact key on PC — used for pickups and in-field interactions.
Why do I keep sliding after I stop moving?
That's the momentum system, not a bug. Movement speed builds gradually while a key is held and decays gradually after release, so you drift a short distance. Press Alt to kill the drift instantly — or use the drift as a feint, since Chasers see the same slide you do.
Do controls change between Chaser and Runner?
No — the inputs are identical for both roles. What changes is how you use them: Chasers chain straight-line momentum with lane cuts, while Runners live on lateral dashes and Alt-stops. The knife does the rest.
How do I redeem a code once I have the controls down?
Press the Menu button (top-left of the HUD), choose Codes, paste the code into the box, and press Redeem. The field holds one code at a time — clear it between entries if you're redeeming several.
What's the single most important key in Huss Valley?
Alt, without question. Momentum makes every movement a commitment, and Alt is the only input that cancels one instantly. Games.gg calls it the most underrated trick in the game — the stop-feint-go rhythm it enables is the foundation of every juke.
